Even though we don't live on a real farm, we do enjoy God's bounty around us. We found a box turtle (that Iain named Ayan), and we have seen turkey, deer and a few foxes. We also saw a giant hornet's nest (but not up close).
Our hummingbird and seed feeders were very popular this summer. One day the seed ran out so a bird decided to check out that red feeder hanging on our porch. As you can see, the hummingbirds were not amused. They fiercely guard their food, even from each other.
We've had a couple hummingbirds drunk with nectar, which gave us a chance to hold them for a while. That was amazing.
Now we have a small crop of sunflowers and corn from the mess that the birds made with their seed.
