Book Review: Mine Is the Night, by Liz Curtis Higgs

This book is inspired by the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, and like the biblical story it is full of hope in the midst of despair and loss. Although Mine Is the Night is the second book in a two-part story, I didn’t have any trouble following it without having read the first book.

My favorite character in this book is Elisabeth; and I love Scotland (my husband and I went there for our honeymoon), which is what lead me to read this book.

Liz Curtis Higgs does a wonderful job painting a picture of the characters and settings in her writing. I read this book for a few hours one evening and finished it by the next afternoon. It was quite enjoyable! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great read.
