Five Minute Friday: Imagine

Five Minute Friday (on Saturday). This is the place where writers write because they love to be spontaneous and not worry about form and grammar and all that editing nonsense. Just free-flowing thoughts coming out for five minutes (if you are into following rules...).

And then, after we link, we visit those behind us and tell them how wonderful they are!

Lisa-Jo is the one who started this, and you can read more by clicking here.

So, yesterday's prompt was Imagine.

And here I GO:

balloons,celebrations,skies,special occasions
Imagine if all of our thoughts and words were like balloons that went high in the sky, for everyone to see. How would we think and speak differently?

The word of God says, "Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things," (Ecclesiastes 11:5).

I've been thinking about this for a week or so, how we don't know the activity of God. But we act like we do.

As brothers and sisters in Christ, we often take things into our own hands (or mouths) and we do or say things that we think are helpful, based on what we think God is doing.

But we really don't know what He is doing, so we can't act like we have a handle on things. Especially when something is happening in someone else's life.

It is hard to bear the burden of another person. Maybe that is part of God's activity, getting us to that point.

Imagine that.

  1. Hi Selena,
I agree that most the time it is best to allow the Lord to move in others lives without an interception from me (LOL)
I have enjoyed reading what you wrote!
But I was thinking I do believe are words are like balloons. They do go somewhere!
And a great point as would we be so careless with our words if we knew, others could see them all!
Loved your 5 minute Friday piece.
    Blessings, Roxy

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Roxy. I agree that words do travel far. But do you think if they came out visually, and we could see them floating away, we'd be more careful?

      I wonder. :)
